Full-length model tests
Full-length German model tests
A vocabulary app tells you what you know. A model test tells you what you will score. PassDeutsch is built around complete, timed model tests for Goethe, telc and DTZ, because the difference between a candidate who passes and one who does not is usually pacing and task recognition - not vocabulary.
How it works
- 1
Pick your provider and level
Choose Goethe-Institut, telc or DTZ, then A1, A2 or B1. The app only ever shows you tasks in the format that provider actually uses - including Sprachbausteine for telc B1.
- 2
Take a module - or the whole test
Each module opens with its own countdown: Hören, Lesen, Schreiben and Sprechen. Sit one module in a lunch break, or run the whole test end to end on a Saturday morning the way exam day works.
- 3
Answer under real conditions
Audio plays the same number of times as in the exam. Reading passages arrive at full length. The timer keeps running when you stall - which is exactly the habit you need to break before the real thing.
- 4
Score, review, repeat
You get your result immediately, question by question, with the correct answer and where you lost time. Writing and speaking go to AI marking; reading and listening are scored instantly.

Questions
How many model tests does PassDeutsch include?
210 full-length model tests - 30 for every provider and level combination: Goethe A1, A2 and B1, telc A1, A2 and B1, and the DTZ at B1. All of them are free, and new tests are added with app updates.
Are the tests the same as the real exam papers?
No - official papers are copyright of the exam boards. PassDeutsch model tests are original material written to the same specification: the same modules, part counts, task types, timings and difficulty. That is what makes the score you get a useful prediction.
Can I pause a test?
You can leave a module and come back, but the point of a model test is the timer. For a realistic score, sit the module in one go - the app records your time so you can see whether pacing is the problem.
