Freiburg has a Goethe-Institut and a set of telc centres with unusually transparent pricing, including discounts for course participants and for anyone repeating an exam. What it does not have in every centre is the DTZ - one of the main schools says so plainly.

Booking in this city
ISD discounts repeat candidates by about €40, and inlingua waives its €45 registration fee for repeat exams. Few centres anywhere price a second attempt differently - worth knowing if the first one did not go to plan.
ISD states clearly that it offers neither the DTZ nor the Leben in Deutschland test. If you need those for a residence or citizenship file, go to a BAMF-approved provider rather than a telc school.
ISD takes registrations until 15 days before the exam, but anything booked inside the 31-day window costs €20 extra. Book early and you keep the money.
