Before you book
La Paz is the only verified exam location. From Santa Cruz or Cochabamba that means a flight or a long bus, so book the date and the travel in one decision rather than hoping for a nearer sitting.
La Paz sits above 3,600 metres. If you are travelling up from Santa Cruz for a three-hour written exam, arriving the day before rather than the morning of is worth the extra night.
German universities teaching in German normally ask for TestDaF or Goethe-Zertifikat C1. Both are available here, but they are different exams in format and scoring - read the admission letter carefully.
The institute lists TestDaF, but registration runs through testdaf.de rather than the institute, on six fixed dates a year with places allocated in the order they arrive.
Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.
