German exam centres in Nürnberg

Nuremberg’s municipal Bildungszentrum is the main exam centre, and it publishes its prices - from €105 at A1. The catch is the DTZ: there it is reserved for people on its own integration and vocational courses, so self-payers need a different route.

What is different about Nürnberg

The cheapest published A1 in this list

At €105 for telc A1 and €115 at A2, the Bildungszentrum is the lowest published price among the cities covered here. Worth knowing if you are near the Bavarian border and flexible about where you sit the exam.

The DTZ is course-restricted here

The Bildungszentrum runs the DTZ, Leben in Deutschland and the vocational German test only for participants of its own integration and vocational courses. If you are a self-payer, ask linguademia or a BAMF-approved provider instead.

General telc exams are open to all

The restriction applies to the integration-course exams, not to the ordinary telc sittings: the centre states plainly that anyone may register for those, provided they book in advance.

Three ways to register - but book early

The Bildungszentrum takes registrations online, in writing or in person, always in advance. Demand is high enough that most of its dates show as fully booked, so treat the published calendar as a queue rather than a menu.

A second route for the DTZ

Because the Bildungszentrum reserves the DTZ for its own course participants, Sprachenschule Nürnberg and linguademia are the alternatives worth calling if you are outside that system.

Booking is the easy half. Sit a full model test in the format you booked - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics tell you which module needs the weeks between now and your date.
