German exam centres in Albania

Albania sends a large share of its nurses, carers and skilled trades to Germany and Austria, and the exam market has grown around that rather than around a cultural institute. There is no Goethe-Institut in the country. Both verified centres are in Tirana and both examine telc, which German employers and missions accept alongside the Goethe-Zertifikat.

telc Deutsch

The Catholic University of Our Lady of Good Counsel, registered as a telc examination centre at this address in telc’s own centre register. Its own site was unreachable to us, so confirm levels, dates and fees directly - and check that external candidates can sit there.

telc Deutsch

Part of the German DEKRA training group, registered with telc at this address. That German parentage usually means the nursing and vocational exams are the focus - ask whether the B1·B2 Pflege exam runs here if that is your file.

We do not publish individual sitting dates: they change too often to be safe. Follow the centre link for the current calendar.

What is different about Albania

There is no Goethe-Institut in Albania

If an employer or agency has told you to sit a Goethe-Zertifikat, that means travelling - most likely to Skopje, Pristina or Italy. Ask first whether telc at the same level is acceptable, because for most employers it is.

DEKRA is the vocational route

DEKRA Akademie is part of a German training group, and centres like it usually exist because of nursing and skilled-trade recruitment. If you already have a placement, ask whether they run the telc B1·B2 Pflege exam your recognition file may name.

Both centres are in Tirana

From Shkodër, Vlorë or Korçë that means travel. With only two verified centres nationally, dates are limited, so register as soon as a window opens rather than when your course ends.

Neither centre publishes fees

Both entries rest on telc’s own register rather than a centre website we could read, so levels, dates and prices all need confirming directly. Get the fee in writing before you commit.

Booked a date? Now get the score.

Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.

FAQ

Taking a German exam in Albania

Where can I take a German exam in Albania?

In Tirana, at the Catholic University "Zoja e Këshillit të Mirë" on Rruga Dritan Hoxha, or at DEKRA Akademie on Rruga Bardhok Biba. Both are licensed telc examination centres.

Is there a Goethe-Institut in Albania?

No. There is no Goethe-Institut exam centre in the country, so a Goethe-Zertifikat means travelling abroad. Before you plan that, ask whether telc at the same level is acceptable - German missions and most employers accept both.

Which exam do nurses from Albania need?

Usually B1 to start and B2 for recognition, and some German states name the telc B1·B2 Pflege exam specifically rather than a general B2. Ask DEKRA Akademie whether it runs that exam, and confirm the requirement with the recognition authority in writing.

Can I take the ÖSD exam in Albania?

We could not confirm it either way. ÖSD publishes no centre register we can read, so Albanian coverage is unknown to us rather than absent. Use ÖSD’s own centre finder if an Austrian employer has named the diploma.
