Greece has one of the densest Goethe exam networks in Europe, and unusually it reaches the islands. Athens and Thessaloniki run the full range, and exams also take place in Patras, Ioannina, Heraklion, Chania, Corfu and Rhodes. German is widely taught in Greek schools, so youth exams matter here more than in most countries.
Where to sit the exam

Omirou 14-16, 10672 Athens
Vas. Olgas 66, 54642 Thessaloniki
The main centre for northern Greece, and a much shorter trip than Athens from Macedonia and Thrace.
Named by Goethe-Institut Greece as an exam location. No street address is published, so contact Athens for the venue and calendar.
The main option in Epirus. Named by the institute as an exam location; no address published.
One of two exam locations on Crete, alongside Chania. No address published.
Western Crete, which saves the drive to Heraklion. No address published.
An island exam location, which is rare - most countries make islanders travel to the mainland. No address published.
The Dodecanese exam location, saving a flight to Athens. No address published.
We do not publish individual sitting dates: they change too often to be safe. Follow the centre link for the current calendar.
Before you book
Crete has two exam locations, and Corfu and Rhodes have their own. That is unusual - most countries make island candidates fly to the capital. Check the local date before booking a trip to Athens.
The other six are exam locations rather than institutes. Contact Athens or Thessaloniki for the venue and calendar rather than looking for a local office.
German is widely taught in Greek schools, so the Fit in Deutsch exams for ages 10 to 16 are more relevant than in most countries. The adult versions are recommended from 16, and C2 from 18.
Athens and Thessaloniki both list TestDaF for university admission. Booking runs centrally on testdaf.de, and the six regional locations do not offer it.
Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.

Yes. There are exam locations in Heraklion and Chania on Crete, plus Corfu and Rhodes. They publish no addresses, so contact Athens for the venue and current dates - but you should not need to fly to the mainland.
At the Goethe-Instituts in Athens and Thessaloniki. Booking runs centrally on testdaf.de rather than through the institute, and the regional exam locations do not offer it.
We checked telc’s own centre register and it lists none, and ÖSD publishes no register we can read. Treat that as "none found" rather than "none exists", and ask any school claiming to examine either board for its centre number.
The exam boards maintain their own centre finders. They are the authoritative list.
