German exam centres in Sweden

Sweden runs its German exams through the Goethe-Institut in central Stockholm. It covers the full Goethe-Zertifikat ladder from A1 to C2 plus TestDaF. It is also one of the centres that Finnish candidates are directed to, because the Goethe-Institut in Helsinki does not currently examine at all.

What is different about Sweden

Finland has no exams - Stockholm is one answer

Goethe-Institut Finland states plainly that it does not currently offer German exams, and points candidates to Estonia, Sweden, Denmark or Norway instead. From Helsinki, Stockholm and Tallinn are the two obvious options.

One centre for the country

Stockholm is the only verified exam location in Sweden. From Gothenburg or Malmö, note that Copenhagen is closer than Stockholm for anyone in Skåne - and it examines the same range.

There is a Nordic exam contact address

The Goethe-Institut runs a shared Nordic exam mailbox, pruefungen-nordeuropa@goethe.de, for candidates unsure which country to book in. That is the fastest route to an answer if you are between two centres.

TestDaF is booked centrally

The institute lists TestDaF for university admission, but registration runs through testdaf.de on six fixed dates a year with places allocated in the order they arrive.

Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.
