Vietnam sends large numbers of trainees and nurses to Germany, and its exam network has grown to match. Alongside the two Goethe-Instituts in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, telc has been licensed through Vietnamese providers in both cities since 2025, and ÖSD examines through partner centres in each. All three certificates are accepted for Ausbildung and visa files, so check which board has a date before you fix your travel.

Licensed on 18 March 2025 under Ministry of Education and Training decision 714/QD-BGDĐT, and the first provider licensed to run telc exams in Ho Chi Minh City. Exams are sat at its branch at 502 Do Xuan Hop, Phuoc Binh Ward, Thu Duc, which has three exam rooms. Before this licence, southern candidates had to travel to Hanoi or abroad.

Before you book
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City publish their exam dates independently. If your level is booked out in one, check the other before assuming you have to wait.
Vocational training places in Germany typically ask for B1, sometimes B2 for nursing. Every board on this page examines B1 in both cities, so the level itself never requires travel abroad.
Until SHD Education was licensed in March 2025, southern candidates who wanted telc had to travel to Hanoi or out of the country. If you are reading older advice that says telc means a trip north, it is out of date.
telc Deutsch B1·B2 Pflege, available in Hanoi, is the combined exam written for healthcare staff, and some German recognition authorities ask for it by name rather than accepting a general B2.
With a handful of centres serving the whole country, popular levels fill early. Most run a registration window per sitting rather than a standing monthly slot, so watch the announcements rather than assuming a date will be there.
Ausbildung providers, universities and visa sections do not all accept the same certificates. Check the requirement in writing before booking - it is the cheapest step in the whole process.
