Egypt has the deepest German exam network in North Africa. The Goethe-Institut examines in Cairo and Alexandria, a telc centre in 6th of October City publishes both a monthly calendar and a full price list, and ÖSD partners cover Cairo, Alexandria and Hurghada. Between them they serve a heavy flow of nursing, Ausbildung and university candidates.

Each centre was checked on the exam board's own website. Dates and fees change, so confirm directly with the centre before you pay or travel.

An officially accredited ÖSD exam centre. It does not publish the adult level range or fees, so ask the exams department which levels are running before you register.

An authorised ÖSD partner. It ran telc exams in Cairo with Sprachenakademie Aachen until 2022 and says it will publish details if those resume - so do not book here expecting telc today.
Maarouf El-Rassafy St. 27, Kafr Abdou, Alexandria
This is a temporary address. The institute moved out of its villa on Batalsa Street in October 2025 for renovation, and course and exam registration runs online through the Webshop portal rather than at the counter.

Same operator as the Cairo centre, which advertises more frequent sittings and easier availability than the Goethe route. Confirm the level list for your date.
O West Compound, 6th of October City
An officially licensed external telc examination centre, described by its operator as the first telc competence centre outside Germany. Registration closes 18 days before the exam date - this is the deadline people miss.

Before you book
SIS Cairo West closes registration 18 days before each sitting. With up to eight exams a month there is usually another date, but if you are working to a visa or contract deadline, count backwards from it before you plan anything else.
Cairo spreads exams across three buildings in Dokki and Downtown, and Alexandria is at a temporary Kafr Abdou address while its Batalsa Street villa is renovated. Read the venue off your confirmation - the address you find in an old blog post is probably wrong.
The ÖSD partners here advertise more frequent sittings and easier booking than the Goethe calendar. If a Goethe date is full and your file accepts ÖSD, it is a real alternative - confirm acceptance in writing first, because not every recognition authority treats them identically.
SIS Cairo West lists EGP 10,000 for A1 or A2, EGP 12,000 for B1 or B2 and EGP 13,000 for C1 Hochschule. Nobody else on this page publishes a fee, so ask for the figure in writing before you commit.
