- Goethe-Zertifikat A1 to C2, including the Fit in Deutsch youth exams; TestDaF
Europe · 21 verified centres
Turkey has a deeper German exam network than most people realise. The three Goethe-Instituts in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir run the whole ladder from the Fit in Deutsch youth exams to C2 plus TestDaF, and a separate layer of licensed telc and ÖSD centres reaches Adana, Antalya and Bursa as well. If a Goethe date is full, another board is often examining the same level in the same month.
Where to sit the exam
Each centre was checked on the exam board's own website. Dates and fees change, so confirm directly with the centre before you pay or travel.

Kırcaali Mah., Kayalı Sokak, Ortaklar İş Merkezi Kat 4, Osmangazi, Bursa
A hundred metres from Kent Meydanı. Its own site said telc exams were "starting soon" when we checked, so confirm the centre is actually examining before you register rather than assuming a date exists.
We do not publish individual sitting dates: they change too often to be safe. Follow the centre link for the current calendar.
Before you book
Spouses joining a partner in Germany normally need Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Start Deutsch 1. It is the most-booked exam in the country and it fills fastest, so treat the registration window as the real deadline rather than the exam date.
Fit in Deutsch A1 and A2 are written for ages 10 to 16 and run at all three institutes. The Goethe-Institut recommends the adult versions from 16 and C2 from 18 - putting a 14-year-old into an adult sitting rarely goes well.
Licensed telc centres also examine in Adana, Antalya and Bursa, and several hold an ÖSD licence as well. If you are outside Istanbul, Ankara or Izmir, check those before you book a flight - the certificate is recognised the same way.
Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa publishes a real price list, roughly ₺10,220 at A1 or A2 up to about ₺14,523 at C1. Almost every other centre puts fees behind a separate calendar page or a phone call, so get the figure in writing before you commit.
Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir publish separately. A level that is full in Istanbul is often open in Izmir, and the certificate is identical wherever you sit it.
All three institutes offer TestDaF, but registration goes through testdaf.de, on six fixed dates a year, with places allocated in the order they arrive. Turkish venues fill quickly.
Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.
FAQ
At the Goethe-Institut in Istanbul (Yeni Çarşı Cad. 32, Beyoğlu), Ankara (Atatürk Bulvarı 131K/1, Çankaya) or Izmir (Mithatpaşa Caddesi 907/2, Göztepe). All three examine the full A1 to C2 range plus the Fit in Deutsch youth exams and TestDaF.
Normally Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Start Deutsch 1, which proves basic German for a spouse joining a partner in Germany. It runs at all three institutes. Confirm the requirement in writing with the German mission handling your file before you book.
At all three Goethe-Instituts, but booking runs centrally on testdaf.de, not at the institute. It is a B2 to C1 exam for university admission, held on six fixed dates a year, and Turkish venues fill quickly once the window opens.
Yes, several. Verified ones are Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa and Mindset in Istanbul, ANKA Sprachschule and Özel Dört Beceri in Ankara, İzdaf Akademi in Izmir, Kökdil in Adana and Antalya, and Globus in Bursa. telc licenses individual schools and universities rather than running a network, which is why they are easy to miss.
Yes. ANKA Sprachschule in Ankara and Kökdil in Adana and Antalya hold both a telc and an ÖSD licence. ÖSD is the Austrian certificate and is recognised alongside Goethe and telc, so it is a genuine alternative when Goethe dates are full - confirm your specific visa or employer file accepts it first.
Adana and Antalya, at Kökdil Deutsch-Institut, and Bursa, at Globus Dil Kursu. Those are telc rather than Goethe centres. Globus described its telc exams as starting soon when we checked, so confirm it is examining before you travel.
The exam boards maintain their own centre finders. They are the authoritative list.
