German exam centres in North Macedonia

North Macedonia has one of the highest rates of German language learning in Europe, driven by work and training routes that open at B1. The Goethe-Institut in Skopje examines the full ladder from the Fit in Deutsch youth exams up to C2, plus TestDaF and the Goethe-Test PRO.

What is different about North Macedonia

Youth exams from age 10

Fit in Deutsch A1 and A2 are written for ages 10 to 16 and run here alongside the adult versions. Families planning a move often start children on these years before the adult file is ready, and the certificates do not expire.

B1 opens the work route

Most employment and vocational training routes to Germany ask for B1. It is the single most-booked level in Skopje, so register when the window opens rather than when you feel ready - you can keep preparing after you have a seat.

One centre for the country

Skopje is the only verified exam location. From Bitola, Tetovo or Štip that is a manageable day trip, but the early morning start on exam day is worth planning for.

TestDaF is booked centrally

The institute offers TestDaF for university admission, but registration runs through testdaf.de on six fixed dates a year, with places allocated in the order registrations arrive.

Booked a date? Now get the score.

Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.
