Before you book
Lagos is the only verified exam location in Nigeria. From Abuja, Kano or Port Harcourt that is a flight, so book the date and the travel in the same decision rather than hoping for a nearer sitting.
German universities teaching in German normally ask for TestDaF or Goethe-Zertifikat C1. Both run in Lagos, but they are different exams with different formats - check which one your admission letter names before you prepare.
The institute offers TestDaF, but registration runs through testdaf.de, on six fixed dates a year, with places allocated in the order registrations arrive rather than by ballot.
Requirements quoted by study or work agents are often out of date or simply wrong. Ask the university, employer or German mission handling your case, and keep their answer in writing before you pay for an exam.
Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.

Not at any location we have been able to verify. Lagos is the only confirmed centre. We publish a city once its centre is confirmed on its own website rather than listing one with nothing behind it.
We checked telc’s own centre register and it lists no examination centre in Nigeria, and we could not verify one independently. Treat that as “none found” rather than “none exists”: the register lags reality in places - Vietnam has two licensed telc centres that do not appear in it - and ÖSD publishes no register we can read. If you know of a centre here, send us the link to its exam page and we will check it and add it.
The exam boards maintain their own centre finders. They are the authoritative list.
