German exam centres in Chile

Chile runs its German exams through the Goethe-Institut in Providencia, Santiago. It covers the full Goethe-Zertifikat ladder from A1 to C2, TestDaF for university admission, and the Goethe-Test PRO including its nursing version. Chile has a long-established German-descended community in the south, but the exam network itself sits in the capital.

What is different about Chile

One centre for a very long country

Santiago is the only verified exam location. From Antofagasta or Punta Arenas that is a flight of several hours, so book the date and the travel together rather than hoping for a nearer sitting.

The nursing exam is a separate certificate

The Goethe-Test PRO has a version written for nursing professions, and German recognition authorities sometimes name it rather than accepting a general B2. Confirm which your file needs before booking a standard exam.

Youth versions go up to B2

The institute lists youth variants at B1 and B2 as well as the Fit in Deutsch exams at A1 and A2. For a school-age candidate, check which version the receiving institution wants.

German schools are not exam centres

Chile has several long-established German schools, particularly in the south. They teach German but we could not verify any as an exam centre - confirm before assuming a local school can examine you.

Booked a date? Now get the score.

Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.

FAQ

Taking a German exam in Chile

Where can I take a German exam in Chile?

At the Goethe-Institut in Santiago, Holanda 100, piso 2 in Providencia. It examines the full Goethe-Zertifikat range from A1 to C2, plus TestDaF and the Goethe-Test PRO including the nursing version.

Can I sit a German exam outside Santiago?

Not at any location we could verify, including at the German schools in the south. We publish a city once its centre is confirmed rather than listing one with nothing behind it, so tell us if you know of another.

Which German exam do nurses from Chile need?

Usually B1 to start and B2 for recognition, though some German states name the nursing version of the Goethe-Test PRO specifically. Confirm with the recognition authority for the German state you are moving to before you book.

Is there a telc or ÖSD exam centre in Chile?

We checked telc’s own centre register and it lists none, and ÖSD publishes no register we can read. Treat that as "none found" rather than "none exists", and ask any school claiming to examine either board for its centre number.
