What is different about Cyprus

One centre for the island

Nicosia is the only verified exam location in Cyprus. From Limassol, Larnaca or Paphos that is an hour or so by road, which is manageable but worth planning around the registration window rather than the exam date.

The location is near the Green Line

The institute sits beside the former Ledra Palace hotel, close to the buffer zone. Allow extra time on exam morning if you are unfamiliar with the area or crossing from the north.

Greece is the regional alternative

If the Nicosia calendar does not suit, Goethe-Institut Athens and Thessaloniki examine the same range, and Greece also runs exam locations on Crete and Rhodes. The certificate is identical wherever you sit it.

TestDaF is booked centrally

The institute lists TestDaF for university admission, but registration runs through testdaf.de on six fixed dates a year with places allocated in the order they arrive.

Booked a date? Now get the score.

Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.

FAQ

Taking a German exam in Cyprus

Where can I take a German exam in Cyprus?

At the Goethe-Institut in Nicosia, 21 Markou Drakou, west of the old town near the former Ledra Palace hotel. It examines A1 to C2 in youth and adult versions plus TestDaF.

Can I sit a German exam in Limassol or Larnaca?

Not at any location we could verify. Nicosia is the only confirmed centre. We publish a city once its centre is confirmed rather than listing one with nothing behind it.

Where can I take TestDaF in Cyprus?

At the Goethe-Institut in Nicosia, but booking runs centrally on testdaf.de rather than the institute. It covers B2 to C1 for university admission on six fixed dates a year.

Is there a telc or ÖSD exam centre in Cyprus?

We checked telc’s own centre register and it lists none, and ÖSD publishes no register we can read. Treat that as "none found" rather than "none exists", and ask any school claiming to examine either board for its centre number.

The exam boards maintain their own centre finders. They are the authoritative list.
