German exam centres in Togo

Togo runs its German exams through the Goethe-Institut at the Centre Culturel Allemand in Lomé. It covers the full Goethe-Zertifikat range from A1 to C2 in youth and adult versions, plus TestDaF for university admission and the Goethe-Test PRO. German is taught in Togolese secondary schools, so many candidates arrive with some grounding.

What is different about Togo

Ask for the Centre Culturel Allemand

The institute is known locally by its French name rather than as the Goethe-Institut. On the corner of Rue Kokéti and Rue de l’Eglise - the corner is the easier landmark.

German is taught in Togolese schools

German features in secondary education here, so many candidates place above A1. Ask for a placement test rather than starting at the bottom - the fee is the same whichever level you sit.

One centre for the country

Lomé is the only verified exam location, though Togo is small and the capital is on the coast where most of the population lives. Watch the registration window rather than the exam date.

Accra is close if dates do not suit

Goethe-Institut Ghana in Accra is a few hours along the coast and examines the same range. The certificate is identical wherever you sit it.

Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.

Is there a telc or ÖSD exam centre in Togo?

We checked telc’s own centre register and it lists none, and ÖSD publishes no register we can read. Treat that as "none found" rather than "none exists", and ask any school claiming to examine either board for its centre number.
