German exam centres in Singapore

Singapore runs its German exams through the Goethe-Institut at 136 Neil Road, in the Blair Plain conservation area. As a compact city state with one centre, the practical questions here are which levels run on which dates and how early to register - not how far you have to travel.

Goethe-Zertifikat exams; confirm the current level list and dates with the institute

We could not load the institute’s exam page, so the level list here is not confirmed from its own site. Check with the institute which levels and dates are running before you register.

We do not publish individual sitting dates: they change too often to be safe. Follow the centre link for the current calendar.

What is different about Singapore

One centre, but no travel problem

Singapore is small enough that a single centre covers the whole country. The constraint here is the calendar rather than the distance, so watch the registration window rather than worrying about the journey.

Confirm the level list directly

The institute’s exam page did not load for us, so we have not verified which levels run in Singapore. Ask before you assume the full A1 to C2 ladder is available locally.

Malaysia is close if dates do not suit

Kuala Lumpur has both a Goethe-Institut and a licensed telc centre at the German-Malaysian Institute in Kajang, which publishes its fees. That is a short flight and a genuine alternative.

Confirm which certificate your file wants

Universities, employers and visa sections do not all accept the same certificate. Get the requirement in writing before booking, especially if you are comparing Goethe against a telc option in the region.

Booked a date? Now get the score.

Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.

FAQ

Taking a German exam in Singapore

Where can I take a German exam in Singapore?

At the Goethe-Institut, 136 Neil Road, Singapore 088865. We could not load its exam page, so confirm the current level list and dates with the institute before registering.

Which levels are offered in Singapore?

We have not verified this from the institute’s own exam page, which did not load for us. Rather than guess, ask the institute directly - and if you need a level it does not run, Kuala Lumpur is a short flight away.

What are the alternatives if the dates do not suit?

Kuala Lumpur has a Goethe-Institut and the German-Malaysian Institute in Kajang, a licensed telc centre with a published fee list. The certificate is recognised the same way wherever you sit it.

Is there a telc or ÖSD exam centre in Singapore?

We checked telc’s own centre register and it lists none, and ÖSD publishes no register we can read. Treat that as "none found" rather than "none exists", and ask any school claiming to examine either board for its centre number.

Official directories

The exam boards maintain their own centre finders. They are the authoritative list.
