German exam centres in Denmark

Denmark has two German exam locations, Copenhagen and Aarhus, which is unusual for a country this size and means most Danes are within a couple of hours of one. The Goethe-Institut covers A1 to C2 plus TestDaF and the Goethe-Test PRO, and it is one of the centres Finnish candidates are directed to.

Goethe-Zertifikat exams; confirm the level list for your date

The second Danish exam location, in Jutland. Confirm which levels run there before travelling, since regional locations usually carry a shorter list than the main institute.

We do not publish individual sitting dates: they change too often to be safe. Follow the centre link for the current calendar.

What is different about Denmark

Two locations, not one

Copenhagen and Aarhus both examine, which puts most of the country within a couple of hours. Check the Aarhus level list first if you are in Jutland - it may save the trip across the Great Belt.

Copenhagen serves southern Sweden too

From Malmö or Lund, Copenhagen is far closer than Stockholm and examines the same range. The certificate is identical wherever you sit it.

Finland has no exams - Denmark is an option

Goethe-Institut Finland does not currently examine and points candidates to Estonia, Sweden, Denmark or Norway. There is a shared Nordic mailbox, pruefungen-nordeuropa@goethe.de, for working out which is best.

Iceland is a question worth asking

The Danish institute refers to activities in Iceland, and goethe.de/island redirects to the Denmark site - but it does not state that exams run there. Ask Copenhagen directly if you are in Reykjavík.

Booked a date? Now get the score.

Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.

FAQ

Taking a German exam in Denmark

Where can I take a German exam in Denmark?

At the Goethe-Institut in Copenhagen, Frederiksborggade 1, 4th floor, which examines A1 to C2 plus TestDaF and the Goethe-Test PRO; and at a second exam location in Aarhus, Søndergade 74.

Can I sit every level in Aarhus?

Confirm before you travel. Aarhus is an exam location rather than the main institute, and regional locations usually carry a shorter level list. Contact Copenhagen for the Aarhus calendar.

I am in Iceland - where do I sit a German exam?

Ask the Copenhagen institute. It refers to activities in Iceland and goethe.de/island redirects to the Danish site, but it does not state that exams are held there, so we cannot confirm one either way.

Is there a telc or ÖSD exam centre in Denmark?

We checked telc’s own centre register and it lists none, and ÖSD publishes no register we can read. Treat that as "none found" rather than "none exists", and ask any school claiming to examine either board for its centre number.

Official directories

The exam boards maintain their own centre finders. They are the authoritative list.
