German exam centres in Estonia

Estonia runs its German exams through the Goethe-Institut in central Tallinn, which covers A1 to C2 in youth and adult versions plus TestDaF, and works with further exam partners around the country. For candidates in Finland it is often the nearest option of all - Helsinki is a two-hour ferry away, and the Finnish institute does not currently examine.

What is different about Estonia

The nearest centre to Helsinki

Goethe-Institut Finland does not currently offer exams and directs candidates to Estonia, Sweden, Denmark or Norway. Tallinn is a two-hour ferry from Helsinki, which usually beats a flight to Stockholm.

There are exam partners beyond Tallinn

The institute points to partner centres in Estonia via deutsch.ee rather than naming them on its exam page. From Tartu or Narva, ask before assuming you must travel to the capital.

Youth and adult versions both run

Estonia lists separate youth and adult versions at the lower levels. German is taught in many Estonian schools, so check which version a receiving institution wants.

TestDaF is booked centrally

The institute lists TestDaF for university admission, but registration runs through testdaf.de on six fixed dates a year with places allocated in the order they arrive.

Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.

Possibly. The institute refers to exam partners in Estonia through deutsch.ee rather than listing them on its own exam page. Contact it for the centre nearest you before booking travel.

Is there a telc or ÖSD exam centre in Estonia?

We checked telc’s own centre register and it lists none, and ÖSD publishes no register we can read. Treat that as "none found" rather than "none exists", and ask any school claiming to examine either board for its centre number.
