German exam centres in Poland

Poland has by far the widest German exam coverage in this list, but not in the way the numbers first suggest. telc lists over three hundred Polish venues - yet they are run by only three licensed operators, who examine at host schools and universities across 82 cities. Add the Goethe-Instituts in Warsaw and Kraków and the Österreich Institut for ÖSD, and almost every large town is within reach.

What is different about Poland

Three operators, three hundred venues

Poland does not have 300 independent telc centres. It has three licensed operators - WSIiZ Rzeszów, the University of Łódź and UMCS Lublin - who run sessions at host schools nationwide. You register with the operator, not the venue, so start there rather than phoning the school down the road.

Your exam town is probably covered

Between them the operators reach 82 cities. If your town is not one of them, the nearest is rarely far - ask the operator for the closest venue on your preferred date rather than assuming you must travel to Warsaw.

Goethe Poland does not advertise TestDaF

Its exam pages name only the Goethe-Zertifikat range from A1 to C2. If a German university has asked for TestDaF, check the TestDaF portal for a Polish venue instead of assuming Warsaw or Kraków runs it.

ÖSD is the Austrian route, in three cities

The Österreich Institut runs ÖSD in Warsaw, Kraków and Wrocław, including the B2 for nursing and medical professions. If your file is a healthcare one, that specific exam is often the one named.

Booked a date? Now get the score.

Sitting the exam abroad usually means one shot and a long wait for the next date. Practise in the real format first - Goethe, telc or DTZ - and let the analytics show which module still needs the weeks you have left.
